I picked up my first tiny point-and-shoot digital camera as a teenager. I took it everywhere, including local Christian hard rock shows at an old worn-down gym in Maryville, TN. It never even dawned on me that this could become my career. I should have known though - I obsessed over bands, collected posters, drew pictures, took photos, and found my home in alternative subculture. Needless to say, I was the teacher's  favorite in my high school art class. Art school wasn't in the cards for me though, so I focused on an English degree before switching to Communications.

In 2015, I was a student at the University of Tennessee studying Journalism & Electronic Media. I got my first DSLR for a reporting class, and chose to do a project about local music. That sparked a passion for creating visuals for music for the next decade. While I was working as a broadcast news producer at a local TV station, I also spent years practicing photography at tiny dive bars and shooting bigger shows for publications. I slowly built a portfolio that would eventually lead me to my dream job as a concert photographer and I eventually left my news career behind with the music industry in my sights. 

After a few years of publication shoots, my work became an established source for photo/video content in the Knoxville and Nashville metal communities, and I gained the attention of more touring bands before I eventually made the shift into medium/large venue tours across the US and Canada in 2022.

In 2023, I took a break from touring to handle the eventual passing of both my parents, which led me to return to the basics. I picked up drawing and painting again, and this part of my work is just as close to my heart as photography and videography nowadays. This life change has only strengthened my determination to chase my dreams and dedicate myself to my art.

Today, I am a touring professional in the music industry creating photo/video content for metal bands. I am currently the touring content creator and VIP representative for Whitechapel's US tours. I also frequently cover shows for several venues in Knoxville, TN and make fine art prints at a local photography shop.
